Our History
In 2006, Matthew & Susan Yourell acquired the established and well respected firm Des Newport Consulting Engineers. This firm specialized in the engineering design of concrete swimming pools in South East Queensland.
With further acquisitions of a structural residential engineering firm and a soil testing firm, the company expanded its services and team.
Newport Consulting Engineers offers comprehensive services to our clients while still continuing our personalized service.
Our Team
Our General Manager, Stuart Harriott, manages our team located at our Milton office.
With a total of nine engineers, including four with RPEQ status, our clients can be assured their projects are delivered in a timely manner.
Our engineers work closely with our experienced structural drafting team to design practical, cost-effective building solutions. During the construction phase, our engineering team continue to liaise with clients and builders to resolve matters that may arise on site.
Our friendly and efficient administration staff are always happy to assist our clients and answer any queries.
Supporting Future Engineers
Newport Consulting Engineers have a long history in supporting future engineers. This commitment includes speaking at career sessions at secondary schools and providing work experience.
We also support undergraduates to fulfill their 60 day practice requirements as part of their engineering degree.
All students are mentored by experienced engineers and are provided a combination of on-site and design experience.
